Teletran2 Note: Over the years several Transformers OAVs were made. The following is an incomplete list of them.

01. Transformers: Scramble City(1986)

The movie or special begins with the history of the Transformers on earth utilising the clips from the Chou-Robot Semeitai Tatakae Transformers. The story begins with the Cybertrons on a secret mission constructing a gigantic Cybertron warrior which resembles a city, Metroplex (Scramble City). The Destrons sent spies to monitor them and later sends the Constructicons to wreak havoc. Convoy and the aerialbots defeats Devastator but later faces Menasor. Bruticus (Combatrons) arrive to battle and later joined by Defensor (Protectobots). The battle was later joined by Metroplex and ends with the shocking appearance of Dinosaurer (Tripticon in US).

Originally meant to be an OAV series, Scramble City was created to take place between the second and third season of the original Transformers Series. This was meant to take the place of Transformers The Movie which didn’t see a release in Japan until 1990. Unfortunately the first episode ended on a cliffhanger and a second episode was never released. However, there was an informal sequel created by Takara using stop motion footage of the actual toys.

02. Transformers: Zone(1990)

In the distant future, an evil entity known as Violenjiger resurrects some of the most feared generals in Destron history. While saving some inhabitants of a planet destroyed by these Destrons, Cybertron leader Victory Saber is seriously damaged. The leadership of the Cybertron forces is passed on to the heroic robot Dai-Atlas.

Originally meant to be a TV series, Zone was changed to an OVA after less than expected toy sales. The remainder of the story was told in mangas released in “TV Magazine”. While several additional episodes were made, they were never released and it is posssible they no longer exist.

02b. Transformers: Battlestars(1990)

Thanks to the effects of Zone Energy, the once dead Convoy (Optimus Prime) has been revived as Star Convoy. A being named Dark Nova realizes Star Convoy is a threat to his plans of domination, so he ressurects Galvatron from his tomb in Headmasters and makes him Super Megatron, sending him to destroy Star Convoy.

This is the remainder of the Transformers: Zone story and was told in mangas released in “TV Magazine”. While several additional episodes were made, they were never released and it is posssible they no longer exist.
